The CBA Yukon is led by a President who is elected annually, a Past President, Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer. As our spokesperson and members’ advocate, the President is responsible for key relationships with other branches, the National office, Council, the Board of Directors, the Executive Officers, legal groups in Yukon Territory and nationally, the public and the media.
Our Executive Committee is responsible for advancing the work of the CBA Yukon. They ensure the necessary resources for branch operations, and oversee the outcomes of our advocacy, programs and activities. Our branch bylaws and policies, along with the bylaws of the CBA, govern our work.
National governance
Our national association is governed by a President, supported by a 15-member Board of Directors. The National Board represents the diversity of Canada’s legal profession, including practice types, experience, skills, geography and more. All provinces and territories have a seat at the table. CBA Board members are elected by the current Board of Directors, Branch presidents and National Section chairs.
Each member serves a two-year term. Board member terms are staggered so only some of the Board change each year.
